Thermo-chemical hydrolysis process supplements heat and pressure with the addition of chemical. Low pressure steam is used in combination with high shear mixing and the addition of potassium hydroxide to break down macromolecules in sewage sludge. The end product has a low solids concentration (14 – 17%) and viscosity (5,000 – 10,000 cP) while it also meets the EPA’s Class A biosolids standards.Website
