Technology Offering

AquaOmnes

What is it?

A physical-chemical technology, the AquaOmnes is a liquid-liquid deionization (extraction) technology for brackish, seawater and brine treatment. Salts are removed from feedwater using a patented organic liquid resin/solvent in a staged countercurrent flow process where salts preferentially partition to the organic phase. The extraction process is temperature dependent allowing extraction to be done at low temperature in an extraction column and desorption of salts from the extracting solution at high temperature in a desorption column. Temperatures are in the range of 20-90C. Product water is produced at the extraction column. The desorption column produces a concentrated brine and the organic extractant phase which is recycled to the extraction column.
